Peraton is seeking a Linux/Unix Systems Administrator to join our 24x7 enterprise support organization. The role focuses on installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Linux and related software to ensure stability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on Red Hat administration experience, the ability to work in a high-demand environment, and a active DoD Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• BS/BA or equivalent; various degree paths accepted.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Proven RedHat Linux system administration experience.
• Strong security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment with on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain RedHat Linux servers per internal processes.
• Plan and perform system upgrades, coordinating test-to-production transitions.
• Monitor logs and system performance to resolve issues in mission-critical systems.
• Schedule and monitor system backups and data recoveries.
• Configure hardware (workstations, printers, servers, tape devices).
• Provide on-call UNIX/Linux support and general system user assistance.
• Follow DISA STIG procedures to maintain security posture.
• Schedule tasks using support tools and scripts.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
