Job summary

Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking a Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of assigned construction projects across the Western US. You will partner with Project Managers to monitor budgets, analyze performance, and provide actionable insights to drive project success.

The role emphasizes budgeting, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, and accurate financial reporting, with opportunities to influence outcomes and improve processes. Travel to job sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of project accounting principles including budgeting, forecasting, job cost tracking, revenue recognition and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting project managers with cost-to-complete forecasting, project financial reviews, and analysis of project performance.
• Ability to identify and communicate project-related financial risks and impacts.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the financial liaison for assigned projects, supporting Project Management with accurate reporting.
• Oversee project accounting activities including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking actual costs against budgets.
• Prepare detailed financial reports on project performance in alignment with accounting standards.
• Manage project-related billing processes and perform reconciliations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
