Job summary

Choate Construction Company in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Preconstruction Manager for mission critical projects. You will lead the preconstruction phase, coordinating estimating, scheduling, contracting and bid package execution to meet cost objectives.

Responsibilities include directing the development of cost models, evaluating subcontractor proposals, and mentoring staff across markets to ensure accurate, complete estimates and strong client partnerships in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Six to ten years of construction experience.
• Proficient in Bluebeam for PDF documents.
• Proficient in Timberline Estimating software.
• Proficient in Agtek and iSqF.

Responsibilities

• Provide full lifecycle preconstruction leadership for complex, mission critical projects.
• Develop and guide strategy for estimating, scheduling, budgeting, contracting, and bid package execution.
• Maintain oversight of preconstruction efforts across markets.
• Support development of cost metrics and market analyses.
• Mentor preconstruction staff and ensure clear communication.
