Job summary

Entarian seeks a Network Engineer to provide full-time support for NOAA satellite mission networks. Duties include routine operations, troubleshooting, and integration of new subsystems, with on-site work at the NOAA Satellite Operations Facility in Suitland, MD. Travel to Fairmont, WV, Wallops Island, VA, and Alaska is required.

The role demands planning, coordination, and documentation of network configurations, with a salary range of $90,000–$100,000 per year.

Qualifications

• BS or equivalent in engineering, computer science or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant network engineering experience.
• Knowledge of fault-tolerance, high-availability, and COOP concepts.
• Experience with NGFWs, security zones, and defense-in-depth.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
• Ability to configure and troubleshoot VRRP/HSRP, STP, LACP, MLAG, and related protocols.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain network infrastructure hardware and software.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN issues and performance problems.
• Assist with architectural improvements, migrations, OS and hardware upgrades.
• Document configuration changes in the configuration management system.
• Monitor device health, bandwidth, uptime, outages, and security events.
• Record problem resolutions in the ticketing system and update SOPs.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support when required.
• Plan and coordinate tasks, identify dependencies, and mitigate risks.
