Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to support the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. You will design, develop, modify, and maintain software and firmware across the system lifecycle, including testing and traceability, in lab and field environments.

The role requires 3+ years of software development experience, proficiency in Python/C/C++/Java, and familiarity with git and software configuration management. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing, coding, integrating, testing, and maintaining software in a structured engineering environment.
• Proficiency in Python, C, C++, Java, or similar languages.
• Experience with software testing at unit, integration, and system levels.
• Experience with requirements analysis, traceability, and technical documentation.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and software configuration management practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot software and integrated system issues in lab or operational test environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to work with software, systems, test, and cybersecurity teams.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, integrate, test, and maintain software and firmware for EW systems and training environments.
• Support software lifecycle activities from design to field upgrades.
• Plan, design, code, test, and deliver algorithms and software programs per customer requirements.
• Analyze requirements to validate test definitions and acceptance criteria.
• Perform requirements development, validation, traceability, risk assessment, and mitigation planning.
• Support unit, integration, system, and IV&V testing.
