Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Safety Director to proactively plan and direct the ESH program, ensuring a safe and accident-free environment across projects. You will partner with executives to foster a proactive safety culture and ensure OSHA compliance in all operations.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders, with extensive travel across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental health & safety, safety management, construction or related field preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of direct commercial construction safety experience.
• OSHA 510 Certification obtained within the last 24 months.
• Board Certified Safety Professional designation preferred (CSP, ASP, or CHST).
• Extensive travel to multiple locations will be required.
• Thorough understanding of construction safety regulations and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Champions "The Layton Way" by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
• Reports directly to the VP ESH and supports the SBU leadership team.
• Lead the incident investigation process, including root cause analysis.
• Prepare monthly safety reports to management, owners, and parent company.
• Create, plan, and implement programs to train employees in work site safety practices.
