Adams Electric Company is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Superintendent in Charlotte, NC to plan, direct, and supervise electrical installation and maintenance tasks. You will lead electricians and subcontractors, read blueprints, ensure safety, and coordinate with trades to meet project deadlines.

The role requires strong supervision, safety focus, and the ability to manage BIM input and timesheet tracking on tablets.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Electrical licensure preferred; OSHA 30 required.
• 4–10 years related electrical construction experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications.
• Strong supervision and safety compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate and supervise electrical installation and maintenance.
• Supervise electricians, apprentices, helpers and temp workers.
• Coordinate with trades to meet schedule and contracts.
• Review job specs, read blueprints, and determine construction methods.
• Prepare safety analyses and reports; ensure compliance and safety.
• Oversee subcontractors for specific project components (fire alarm, nurse call).
• Oversee BIM process input and maintain documentation; use tablets for timesheets.

ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

Charlotte, NC

POSITION SUMMARY

Plan, direct, coordinate and supervise personnel as well as activities concerned with the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Supervise and direct the electrical work in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines and coordinate with other trades, to ensure compliance with the overall project schedule and contract documents.
• Lead by example
• Implement quality control measures.
• Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
• Examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and to ensure that specifications are met.
• Prepare and provide documents such as Jobsite Safety Analysis, Jobsite Hazard Analysis and safety reports.
• Interpret and track project schedule to provide two week look ahead and forecast manpower requirements based on the project goals and schedule
• Read specifications and blueprints to plan procedures and determine construction requirements
• Track and complete weekly time sheets on an IPAD or computer tablet.
• Formally manage and request materials and supplies
• Supervise, coordinate, and assign the activities of electricians, apprentices, helpers and temp workers
• Assist project manager in selecting and contracting with subcontractors, and directly oversee subcontractors who complete specific pieces of the project, such as fire alarm, nurse call, etc.
• Proactively confer with management, trade partners, other departments and contractors in order to coordinate work activities and prevent/resolve problems
• Locate, measure, and mark site locations and placement of structures and equipment, using measuring and marking equipment
• Analyze worker, foresee any production problems and recommend solutions, such as improving production methods or implementing motivational plans.
• Train workers in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures, and company policies
• Meet all requirements as an electrician and perform the work normally assigned to electricians
• Provide input and supervision of the BIM process and installation.
• Maintain basic computer skills

Education, Training and Certifications

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (G.E.D)
• Licensure as an electrician OR
• 4-10 years related experience or equivalent knowledge and experience
• OSHA 30
