Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Data Scientist to analyze government datasets, build predictive models, and deliver actionable insights. You will transform data, apply NLP to unstructured sources, and present findings in executive dashboards.

You will collaborate with clinical and performance teams, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance while supporting mission-critical analyses for government programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline with coursework in statistics, programming and quantitative analysis.
• 1+ year applying data science or statistical methods to real-world problems (internships or projects count).
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and in SQL for querying relational data.
• Working knowledge of applied statistics and supervised/unsupervised ML methods.
• Ability to prepare and clean data, ETL/ELT concepts, and reproducible workflows.

Responsibilities

• Query, clean, transform, and prepare data from government data sources for analysis.
• Develop, validate, and document predictive and prescriptive models to forecast operator readiness and program efficacy.
• Support NLP use cases to analyze unstructured data using approved tools.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain dashboards and executive reports (Power BI) and integrate data products into low-code workflows.
• Document data sources, transformations, methods, and validation procedures for reproducibility.
• Communicate complex concepts clearly to leadership and staff.
