General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a Data Scientist Journeyman to turn data into measurable outcomes for defense challenges. You will develop and deploy AI/ML models, supporting forecasting, classification, and anomaly detection, with emphasis on secure DoD-compliant workflows.

You will collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, implement MLOps using MLflow, DVC, Kubeflow, and containerize models for on-prem and edge environments such as Jetson.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in a related technical field.
• DoD Directive 8140 compliant certification.
• 3+ years of related experience.
• Strong experience with Python and major open-source ML libraries.
• Expertise in data management for large-scale data systems.
• Ability to translate requirements into analytics for CI/CD and cloud solutions.
• Experience deploying models in air-gapped or on-prem environments with Docker/Kubernetes/Podman.
• Hands-on knowledge of MLOps toolchains and secure DevSecOps practices.
• Experience with model optimization/conversion for edge deployment.
• Proven ability to work in classified DoD environments with data security protocols.

Responsabilités

• Develop and train AI/ML models for forecasting, classification, anomaly detection, and autonomous behavior.
• Deploy and operationalize models with containerized tech for on-prem and edge environments.
• Design edge-compatible ML solutions for low-power/disconnected scenarios.
• Lead MLOps using MLflow, DVC, Kubeflow, and Git for reproducibility and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with data scientists, DevSecOps, engineers, and analysts to align models with requirements.
• Enable real-time sensor integration delivering actionable results with minimal delay.
• Ensure data security and DoD-aligned data handling and tagging practices.
