Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a Data Scientist to apply statistics, data mining, and ML to performance, health, and readiness data for actionable insights.

You’ll frame questions with government stakeholders, prepare data, and deliver reports and visual analytics using government tools. You will develop predictive models, support NLP use cases, and build dashboards with Power BI while ensuring data quality and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline with coursework in statistics, programming and quantitative analysis.
• Minimum of one year applying data science methods to real-world problems.
• Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and SQL querying.
• Knowledge of applied statistics and supervised/unsupervised learning.
• Experience producing visual analytics and reports for decision-makers.

Responsibilities

• Query, clean, transform, and prepare data from government sources for analysis.
• Develop, validate, and document predictive and prescriptive models.
• Support NLP use cases for text data using NLP/LLM workflows.
• Create, deploy, and maintain dashboards using Power BI and low-code platforms.
• Support analyses measuring program efficacy and ROI as directed by Government.
• Automate recurring analyses and monthly/quarterly reports.
• Document data sources, transformations, and assumptions for reproducibility.
• Communicate complex results clearly to leadership and staff.
• Collaborate with clinical and performance staff to improve data inputs.
