Job summary

ABSC is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data pipelines for a DoD/IC customer in Chantilly, VA. The role requires transforming diverse data into usable information and delivering scalable data platforms for analysts and mission users.

You will work in a cross-functional Agile team, applying Python/SQL/Scala/Java to develop solutions, while ensuring data quality and performance across complex environments. On-site work is required with active TS/SCI clearance and Polygraph.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience developing software to retrieve, parse, process, or transform data.
• 3+ years of experience developing solutions using Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
• 3+ years of experience designing scalable ETL/ELT workflows for analytics or reporting.
• Experience in collaborative cross-functional teams.
• Experience using GitLab/GitHub/Bitbucket for version control.
• Ability to work on-site in Chantilly, VA.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to obtain Security+ within 30 days of start date.
• Willingness to train on Snowflake and obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Build scalable ETL/ELT workflows supporting analytics and mission applications.
• Develop scripts and services to standardize diverse data sources.
• Create data platforms that ingest, process, store, and deliver large data volumes.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and data consumers to meet mission needs.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of data platforms.
• Develop using Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
• Utilize GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket for version control and collaboration.
• Troubleshoot data quality, ingestion, and performance issues.
• Engage in Agile engineering activities and design reviews.
