Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Engineering Technician to maintain and troubleshoot mission-critical data center facilities, including diesel generators, UPS, PDUs, and cooling systems.

The role requires handling electrical and mechanical equipment, responding to incidents, and performing PM tasks across multiple sites. You will work with a diverse team of engineers and facilities staff, travel between data centers as needed, and adapt to rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of MS Office and applications experience.
• 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Daily building rounds to monitor electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment; ensure 24/7 reliability.
• Monitor Building Management Systems (BMS) and EPMS.
• Troubleshoot facility and rack-level events within SLAs.
• Perform rack installs and decommissioning within SLAs.
• PM, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Technical writing to support change management.
• Monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution; execute projects from conception to completion.
• On-site support of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors; ensure work adheres to practices and local laws.
• Shift changes; up to 12 hours; may rotate; some locations have on-call rotations.
• Role may support more than one location/site.
