Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Mission Critical Plus (MC+) Project Superintendent I to lead field operations on retrofit, upgrade, and tenant improvement projects within live data center environments in Northern Virginia. You will enforce safety, manage schedules and budgets, and coordinate with teams to protect critical infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have five years of project supervision experience, data center familiarity, and strong mentoring and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Five years of project construction supervision experience required.
• Experience in mission-critical data center facilities or similar environments preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop others.
• Familiarity with data center infrastructure systems (Electrical distribution, generators, UPS, cooling, cabling) is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead and enforce a strong safety culture on the jobsite.
• Oversee daily field operations to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Coordinate with project teams, clients, and subcontractors to protect active operations and critical infrastructure.
• Plan and manage project execution: scheduling, labor forecasting, site logistics, and self-performed work.
• Lead subcontractor coordination and preconstruction meetings.
• Monitor project costs and support forecasting and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, insurance, and regulations.
• Respond to RFIs and manage field documentation; ensure timely submittals.
• Build relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Support team development through training and mentoring.
• Assist with hiring and staff development as needed.
• Execute project closeout, punch lists, and as-built documentation.
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across construction phases.
• Other duties as assigned.
