Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Facility Manager to lead the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment in data centers within a specified region. You will help ensure >99.9999% uptime while optimizing operating costs and supporting mission-critical servers.

The role requires managing 24x7 engineering technicians, coordinating with vendors, and driving improvements from concept to completion.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or equivalent.
3+ years in a management position with 5+ direct reports.
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
5+ years of experience working in data centers or critical infrastructure with an emphasis on building and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of the data center's critical infrastructure, ensuring high quality work with no impact to customers.
Oversee safety, security, availability, quality, and performance of the team across multiple shifts and drive customer experience.
Manage teams of 24x7 engineering technicians and Facility Managers in all career facets.
Engage in improvement projects and drive them from conception to completion.
Ensure staffing levels are maintained and grow with expansions.
Be actively involved in ongoing construction activities.
Coordinate daily with third-party vendors ensuring adherence to SLAs.
Effectively and efficiently manage the operations budget and expenditures.
