Job summary

KVC Health Systems in Olathe, KS is seeking a Missing Youth Specialist to provide support and oversight to permanency staff as they locate missing youth. The role requires a Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, plus a valid driver’s license.

You will conduct searches online and in person, coordinate with law enforcement and community agencies, track data, and contribute to training and developing new search methods to help reunite youth with families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree preferred from an accredited college or university in a related field
  • 2 years experience with children and family services
  • Current valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance required
  • Licensure in Kansas BSRB preferred
  • Flexibility in working hours

Responsibilities

  • Conduct online and in-person searches to locate missing youth.
  • Serve as liaison with law enforcement and community agencies.
  • Track and analyze data to identify trends and provide weekly updates to DCF.
  • Utilize various methods (door knocking, social media, etc.) to find missing youth.
  • Assist in training staff and researching new search methods.
  • Complete assessments on returning youth and provide Family Finding investigative efforts.
  • Advocate for children and families and represent the agency in professional/community groups.
  • Ensure paperwork is completed timely and attend all required meetings.
  • Develop resources and improve contract outcomes.
