Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks a Missile Flight Software Engineer in Huntsville, AL to design, implement, and test embedded missile software. The role involves hands-on development, requirements development, and cross-functional collaboration with GA-EMS and customer teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong embedded software background, C/C++ expertise, familiarity with RTOS, ARM, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, and Linux, and the ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Progressive engineering experience: 4+ years with a bachelor’s or 2+ years with a master’s.
• Experience with embedded software development.
• Experience with C/C++ in embedded environments.
• Experience reading schematics and working with hardware designers.
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them.

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop, and test requirements and design work products.
• Hands-on development of software for real-time embedded missile systems.
• Collaborate daily with GA-EMS and customer teams.
• Prepare documentation and present technical information as required.
• Review and edit technical documents as needed.
• Work extended hours to meet deadlines and travel as required.
