Job summary

Flanigan's Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a server to provide friendly, attentive service in a Florida restaurant. The role involves greeting guests, taking orders, and delivering food and beverages with a focus on accuracy and timely service.

Applicants should be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and maintain clean dining areas. Florida Responsible Vendor and food safety certifications are required; five-day work weeks and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience or training in customer service in a food service environment.
• Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety and sanitation policies and training.
• Support colleagues in maintaining table appearance and serving tasks.
• Be knowledgeable about Food & Beverage menus, promotions, and answer questions clearly.
• Accurately take and enter guests' orders into the POS system.
• Retrieve and deliver orders from kitchen/bar to guests promptly.
• Assess guests’ demeanor and know when to involve a manager.
• Process customer payments accurately and provide correct change.
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, and side work.
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests.

Job description

At Flanigan’s, we strive to bring together warm, caring, friendly, outgoing people, who find joy in serving others. Our servers play a vital role in every meal - welcoming and guiding, taking orders and serving, and attending to details.

• Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
• Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
• Be knowledgeable regarding Food & Beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
• Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
• Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
• Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a Manager
• Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
• Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
• Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests
• Can physically stand/walk 100% of shift
• Can reach, bend, stoop frequently
• Able to deliver plates, and clear tables of plates and glasses, which may require lifting up to 50 lbs
• Ability to speak, read and write English
• Ability to read and write handwritten guest checks, notes, etc
• Complete and pass Florida Responsible Vendor program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Complete and pass food safety certification program, in compliance with Flanigan’s and Florida statutes
• Five (5) Day Work Week
