Job summary

Washington Elementary School District 6 is seeking a Budget Specialist (MIPS) to support the Special Services and Finance teams with budget oversight, compliance, and funding management. The role collaborates with state agencies and district departments to ensure MIPS funding and related grants are properly tracked and reported.

The position requires a high school diploma, AZ IVP fingerprint clearance, and experience with school finance and MIPS software; preferred associate degree in accounting

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC) required.
  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field preferred.
  • Three years experience in school finance or related field preferred.
  • Experience with school finance software and MIPS software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in budget oversight and management for Special Services.
  • Collaborate with state agencies and district departments on MIPS funding and compliance.
  • Maintain compliance information on MIPS, Medicare, and grants.
  • Manage Special Services funds including budget, position tracking, and requisitions.
  • Work with grant coordinators on applications and amendments.
  • Prepare financial reports and ensure grant expenditures and payroll are compliant.
