Accounting Specialist, Special Education
Provide support to financial functions, conveying and updating fiscal information, and ensuring that expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
- Three years of job-related experience, preferred
- Proficient typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Terms Of Employment
Salary: $37,151 CP-5. Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of federal grants, specifically IDEA
- Knowledge of budget and accounting procedures
- Knowledge of and skill in the use of computer spreadsheets
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, and detail-oriented.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Implement reporting procedures and internal controls to maintain accurate records.
- Maintain various fiscal information, files, and records to provide an up-to-date reference and audit trail for compliance.
- Monitor fund balances of assigned programs and related financial activity to ensure that allocations are accurate and that fiscal practices are followed.
- Reconcile budget account balances to maintain accurate account balances and comply with related policies, practices, and/or regulations.
- Submit a request for payments for contract employers to pay said employees on time.
- Assist with funding applications and amendments generated for the federal eGrant.
- Monitor and reconcile IDEA and GOF budgets.
- Maintain confidentiality of information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Support Services.
