Job summary

Northern Star Pogo Mine is seeking an OHST Coordinator to develop and maintain effective safety, health and training programs at the Alaska site.

Responsibilities include delivering MSHA/OSHA training, conducting regular safety inspections, maintaining records, and coordinating with regulators. The role supports emergency response planning and continuous safety improvements across operations.

Qualifications

• Develops and maintains safety, health and training programs.
• Plans and delivers MSHA/OSHA training and inductions.
• Assists in planning risk assessments and hazard controls.
• Maintains thorough incident reporting and recordkeeping.
• Conducts safety inspections and informs supervisors of hazards.
• Supports emergency response and incident investigations.
• Promotes a proactive safety culture with leadership and coaching.
• Ensures compliance with MSHA/OSHA regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and maintains occupational health and safety training programs.
• Delivers mandatory MSHA training, site inductions and annual refreshers.
• Assists with risk assessments and hazard identification to reduce injuries.
• Investigates incidents, performs root cause analysis and tracks corrective actions.
• Prepares incident reports and follows up on recommendations within timelines.
• Participates in Emergency Management Team activities and drills.
• Coordinates emergency training exercises and competency assessments.
• Collaborates with operations to improve safety culture and regulatory compliance.
• Provides guidance on occupational health, emergency preparedness, incident management and compliance.
• Develops and maintains industrial hygiene programs to control health hazards.
