Job summary

Factor Search is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join its Minerals & Metals team in Tucson, AZ or Denver, CO. You will lead electrical design across conceptual to construction phases for complex mining and mineral processing projects, ensuring compliance with codes and client specifications.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with mult-disciplinary teams, and act as a primary interface for clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience with 5+ years in lead/senior roles on mining/heavy industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage electrical deliverables across all project phases (concept, FEED, detailed design, execution).
• Provide technical direction for HV/LV distribution, MCCs, substations, lighting, earthing, and communications.
• Coordinate electrical design with other disciplines, procurement, and construction for seamless execution.
• Review and approve electrical specifications, single-line diagrams, cable sizing, load calculations, equipment layouts, and procurement docs.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, FATs, and site inspections.
