Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking an IT professional to maintain Windows and Linux servers, manage network installations including VLANs and wireless, and support a 300+ device environment at Fort Knox near Fairbanks, Alaska.

Responsibilities include daily backups, user account management, training end users, and upholding safety and confidentiality policies while meeting performance goals. Requires travel and shift flexibility; US work permit is needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in computer science preferred.
• Preferred certifications include Comp TIA Net+, MCSA, MCSE.
• Two years’ hands-on experience in technical support for hardware and software.
• Proficient with Windows desktop and server operating system software.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Operate servers to include file/folder security setup and create user accounts.
• Establish and modify network connectivity including VLAN’s and wireless.
• Perform daily operations for data backups.
• Configure, install, and deploy both wired and wireless devices.
• Prepare instructional material for end users; provide training.
• Punctuality and regular attendance are required.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety and confidentiality.
• Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
• Possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
• Work without significant risk of harm to self or others.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
