Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti North America is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to design, install, and optimize electrical power, instrumentation, and control systems for mining and processing operations. You will ensure safe, reliable operation of site electrical infrastructure while supporting capital projects and system improvements.

The role focuses on power distribution, PLC/DCS/SCADA, and control system reliability, requiring 3–5 years of mining/industrial experience and strong

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Electrical/Instrumentation or related field.
3–5 years of electrical and instrumentation experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial environments.
Hands-on experience supporting power distribution and control systems in operating facilities.
Strong PLC troubleshooting and programming experience.
Power system design and analysis; motor control systems and VFD configuration.

Responsibilities

Design, maintain, and support medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
Provide technical support for substations, MCCs, switchgear, and VFDs.
Perform power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash analysis.
Support PLC, DCS, and SCADA systems across mining and processing facilities.
Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
Conduct RCFA on electrical, instrumentation, and control system failures.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to ensure safety and compliance.
