Job summary

Hudbay Minerals U.S. Business Unit seeks a Health & Safety Specialist in Sahuarita, AZ. This full-time role reports to the Sr. Health & Safety Specialist and focuses on MSHA compliance, training delivery, incident investigations, and safety program development to support a safe copper-focused mining operation.

You will coordinate emergency drills, maintain safety records, and collaborate with leadership to improve site safety practices and ensure audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MSHA regulations and recordkeeping.
• Experience delivering MSHA training programs.
• Ability to lead investigations and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with MSHA regulations and safety audits for the Sahuarita operation.
• Develop, plan, and deliver MSHA training including new miner and refresher courses.
• Lead investigations into safety incidents and near-misses with root-cause analysis.
• Develop and implement health and safety programs tailored to site risks.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and maintain up-to-date safety documentation.
