Job summary

Kinross is seeking a motivated sampling technician for our US operations. You will perform high-quality assay sampling using shovel and equipment, deliver samples on schedule, and adhere to safety and environmental policies in a production environment.

You must work independently and as part of the Tech Services team, show strong communication, and wear PPE at all times. This role requires outdoor work in all weather and compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be self-motivated and able to identify work needing to be done without instruction.
• General understanding of mining operations.
• Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Wears PPE and works safely in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Effectively report to Tech Services Department to ensure quality sampling standards are maintained.
• Sampling includes use of shovel, other sampling equipment and mobile equipment.
• Comply with all company policies including safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
• Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
• Exercise discretion and judgment in job performance.
• Work without risk or harm to self and others.
• Maintain punctuality and regular attendance.
• Assist department personnel to perform duties listed above.
• Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
