Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking an Assay Laboratory Technician I to support safe and accurate sample preparation for analyses. You will enter data, handle ovens, crushing, pulverizing, and operate forklifts in a controlled lab setting.

Qualifications

• Detail-oriented with emphasis on accuracy.
• Experience in assay lab preferred.
• Able to recognize missing or contaminated samples and follow corrective procedures.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples for analyses and data entry of sample information.
• Load and unload ovens; crush and pulverize samples; handle rejects; operate forklift.
• Maintain complete and accurate records of all samples in logbook and computer database.
• Perform daily housekeeping tasks and routine maintenance of preparation equipment.
• Complete task training and required exams for Assay Laboratory Technician I, demonstrate proficiency on each task.
• Must complete a 90-day probationary period by meeting performance standards.
• Be willing to advance to higher levels of responsibility within the department.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of all submitted samples prepared for analyses and safeguard accuracy for mine planning.
• Follow all safety procedures to protect personnel and equipment.
• Capable of independent thinking and completing assignments with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to communicate updates and updates to procedures to personnel.
