Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is offering a student internship in the Aggregates line of business in Davis, CA. You will support field operations and work with engineers, managers, and production staff to gain hands-on experience.

The program emphasizes safety, learning across production, maintenance, and quality, and provides an opportunity to participate in real project work while developing technical and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply education to field and support assigned project work.
• Assist plant operations to achieve production goals with engineers, managers and staff.
• Complete technical projects to understand quarry/aggregate site operations.
• Learn the missions of production, maintenance and quality departments and related roles.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental regulations and company policies.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Put your education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work.
• Support the plant operations in achieving production goals while partnering with experienced engineers, managers, and production employees in different departments.
• Complete technical projects to gain an understanding of the operations of a quarry or aggregate site.
• Learn the mission of the production, maintenance, and quality departments and different job and functions.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

• Current juniors and seniors working toward a degree in Mining Engineering or Geology.

Work Environment:

• Combination of office and field work.
• Exposure to various weather conditions.
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Physical requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform manual labor tasks as needed.
