Job summary

ASARCO is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance supervisor to plan, direct and supervise a skilled team across mining operations. You will oversee maintenance planning, safety programs and project work, ensuring compliance and timely execution.

The role requires five years of frontline supervisory experience in heavy industry, strong PLC knowledge and the ability to train junior electricians to journey level, with a focus on 13.8kV power distribution and motor control.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience as a front-line electrical supervisor in mining or heavy industry.
• Demonstrated journey-level electrician experience in mining or heavy industry.
• Experience in safely operating and maintaining 13.8kV power distribution and MV motor control.
• Formal training in programming and maintenance of industrial PLCs, preferably Allen-Bradley.
• Associate degree in electrical tech is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance staff.
• Develop and implement scheduled and unplanned maintenance activities.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance program and materials.
• Ensure safety compliance and promote safe work practices.
• Communicate with production and maintenance supervision to prioritize tasks.
• Provide technical skills for troubleshooting and repairs of equipment.
• Instruct and oversee training of junior electricians to journey level.
• Perform safety/environmental inspections and maintain regulatory records.
• Oversee new installations and project work, including sourcing materials.
• Monitor and control department budget costs and maintenance expenses.
• Coordinate onsite contractor work for maintenance projects.
