Job summary

Origin Mining Company in Arizona is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, maintain, and optimize industrial automation and control systems across mining and processing operations.

You will work with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency through robust PLC/SCADA/HMI/DCS solutions, document systems with P&IDs and drawings, and support projects from commissioning through startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, or Instrumentation Engineering.
• 3+ years in industrial automation, controls engineering, or related fields.
• Hands-on PLC programming and troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience with SCADA, HMI, DCS systems and instrumentation.
• Ability to read P&IDs, loop diagrams, schematics, and control drawings.
• Mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial experience preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and safety standards; ISA, PMP considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, maintain, and optimize control systems for mining and processing operations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve safety and efficiency.
• Develop and troubleshoot PLC/SCADA/HMI/DCS projects; support commissioning and startups.
• Prepare technical documentation including P& IDs, loop diagrams, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards including MSHA, NFPA, and IEC.
