Job summary

WSP is seeking a Mining Construction Contract Administrator to oversee and manage all contracts for a large mining EPCM project within the Earth & Environment team. This full-time onsite role supports open pit and underground environments across the US, with travel per diem for non-locals.

Responsibilities include reviewing contracts, negotiating amendments, monitoring milestones, and mitigating risks across multiple vendors, ensuring regulatory compliance and stakeholder satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of procurement and contract management experience in large-scale heavy civil construction, process facilities, and/or mining infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on contract administration, documentation, and communication while onsite during a large-scale project with multiple vendors.
  • Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, negotiations, and industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and administer contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms and conditions in collaboration with the client and the WSP procurement, construction management, and project controls teams.
  • Support the preparation, negotiation, and execution of field work instructions, amendments and contract change orders.
  • Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, milestones, notices, and deadlines.
  • Identify contractual risks and work with project, legal, commercial, finance, and procurement teams to mitigate them.
  • Manage contract correspondence, records, claims, variations, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide guidance to project team on contractual rights, responsibilities, processes, and escalation requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineering and internal stakeholders on contract-related matters.
  • Assist with commercial reporting, cost impacts, payment provisions, and contractual performance tracking.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Job description

WSP is seeking a Mining Construction Contract Administrator to oversee and manage all contracts in support of a large mining EPCM project in our growing Earth & Environment team. This full-time onsite position can be from anywhere in the United States with preference in Nevada, Utah, or near major mining projects. Travel per diem is available for those not local to the projects.

The full-time Construction Contract Administrator is responsible for all contract-related activities post award from kick-off to closeout for onsite construction, services, and equipment vendors on projects that may involve open pit and/or underground environments. This role is responsible for ensuring the contracts meet all regulatory and stakeholder requirements to deliver successful outcomes for the client.

Desired Skills and Experience

We are seeking self-motivated professionals with:

  • 5+ years of relevant procurement and contract management experience in large-scale heavy civil construction, process facilities, and/or mining infrastructure projects.

  • Demonstrated hands-on contract administration, documentation, and communication while onsite during a large-scale project with multiple vendors.

  • Knowledge of contract terms and conditions, negotiations, and industry standards and regulations, is required.

  • Commitment to safety. MSHA certification is required.

  • Strong verbal/written communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills with good working computer capabilities in MS Office products.

  • Ability to liaise between designers, owners, contractors, and other stakeholders.

  • Able to walk distances on uneven sites, climb small ladders, and work in an active construction environment both above and underground.

  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
