Job summary

Valley of the Sun YMCA is seeking a part-time Minibus Driver in Phoenix, AZ to safely transport children between school, after-school programs, and activity sites. The role emphasizes a positive, energetic attitude and engaging children with crafts and games while maintaining a safety-first approach.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, fingerprint clearance, and childcare experience. Flexible afternoon hours are available, aligning with school schedules.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Fingerprint clearance card and negative TB (or ability to obtain).
• More than 6 months childcare experience is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Transport children to and from before/after school locations.
• Lead children in activities such as arts, crafts, and gym games.
• Create positive memories for each child daily.
• Prioritize safety and respond calmly in emergencies.

Description

Responsible for the safe transportation of children from school to various locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A MINIBUS DRIVER:

• Create positive lasting memories for each child, each day.
• Transport children to and from the before / after school to school.
• Lead children through fun interactive activates such as arts & crafts, gym games and more.

REQUIREMENTS TO BE A MINI BUS DRIVER:

• Minimum age of 21.
• Imagination and creativity.
• A positive energetic attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Possess knowledge and desire to work with children.
• Possess mature judgment and sound decision-making.
• Ability to communicate effectively with members, peers, and supervisor.
• Current fingerprint clearance card and negative TB or the ability to obtain.
• Ability to effectively communicate information on YMCA Child Care Programs.
• Must enjoy working with children and have more than 6 months childcare experience.
• Must be observant, safety conscious and able to react calmly and quickly in an emergency.
• Flexible schedule availability
