Job summary

The Family YMCA of Greater Augusta is seeking a part-time Minibus Driver to transport program participants between sites in Augusta, GA. The role emphasizes safety, courtesy, and positive interactions with youth and families.

Responsibilities include pre/post trip checks, maintaining the minibus, and promoting safety policies. Candidates should have a valid license, be able to pass a background check, and hold CPR/AED/First Aid within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have a current driver’s license.
• Must be eligible for a clear criminal background check including a clean MVRO.
• CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements preferred.
• Two years of driving experience.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Certifications CPR/AED/First Aid within 60 days of hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Drive minibus safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws.
• Maintain minibus in orderly and clean fashion.
• Complete thorough checks before and after every trip, recording all information.
• Record gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms.
• Clean minibus daily, after last use.
• Promote safety, keeping first aid supplies stocked.
• Announce minibus rules prior to departure for each trip.
• Develop friendly relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.
• Communicate regularly with other staff and supervisor.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The driver creates a safe and positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals while providing safe transportation of program participants to and from program sites while maintaining a supportive and positive atmosphere in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.

Schedule

Monday-Friday 1pm-5pm

Essential Functions

• Drives minibus safely according to YMCA policies, procedures, and state laws.
• Maintains minibus in orderly and clean fashion.
• Completes thorough checks before and after every trip, recording all information.
• Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms.
• Cleans minibus out each day, after last use.
• Always promotes safety, keeping first aid supplies fully stocked.
• Announces minibus rules prior to departure for each trip.
• Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children.
• Communicates regularly with other staff and supervisor.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current driver's license required.
• Position requires a clear criminal background check to include a clean Motor Vehicle Report
• CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements is preferred
• 2 Years Driving experience
• 21 years of age
• Certifications required within 60 days of hire; CPR/AED/First Aid
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
