Job summary

Centerra Gold invites applications for a Mine Superintendent position at the Goldfield District Project in Nevada. The role oversees contract mining activities, with a primary focus on dewatering, ore production, and ore handling, ensuring adherence to the mine plan and safety standards.

The successful candidate will coordinate with Engineering, Geology, Processing/Metallurgy, Maintenance and Environmental teams to support site production objectives and continuous improvement initiatives with

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive mining experience in open-pit environments.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience overseeing drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, ore management and stockpiling.
• Strong knowledge of mine dewatering and water management.
• Experience collaborating with processing, metallurgy, engineering, geology, maintenance and environmental teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as Centerra's technical focal point with the contract mining company, ensuring activities align with the mine plan and production targets.
• Provide technical oversight of drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, waste movement, and stockpile management.
• Monitor and audit contractor performance against KPIs; escalate deviations and require corrective actions.
• Be directly accountable for mine dewatering activities and water management.
• Coordinate mining activities with processing requirements for heap leach operations.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives with the contractor to enhance safety, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Supervise the Mine Supervisor and direct field-level oversight of contractor activities.
• Ensure contractor activities meet Centerra's HSE standards and participate in safety reviews.
