Job summary

Peabody Energy, Inc. is seeking a Safety Supervisor to uphold safety as the core at the Shoal Creek site. You will manage training programs, ensure regulatory compliance, document findings, and lead audits and incident investigations.

The role requires 4+ years of coal mining experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to obtain necessary certifications within six months. Shifts may vary; weekends and holidays can be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in safety supervision or safety-related field preferred.
• 4+ years coal mining experience with knowledge of regulations required.
• Willing to obtain certifications within 6 months (MSHA related).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer safety system training and recruit qualified instructors.
• Ensure employees acknowledge health and safety responsibilities.
• Comply with MSHA and state agencies; document findings.
• Data entry in safety databases; track hours and incidents.
• Conduct dust and noise sampling; support investigations.
• Carry out safety audits and SOP implementations.
