Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer at the Tilden Mine near Marquette, MI, to lead short-range planning and reconciliation. The role requires strong technical skills and collaboration across operations to deliver efficient plans.

Responsibilities include developing daily/weekly plans, schedules, blending requirements, and performance reconciliation, with emphasis on safety and environmental considerations. Experience with Vulcan and Modular Dispatch is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in open pit mining.
• High proficiency with mine design software and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop short-range mine plans (daily, weekly to monthly) following mine plans, incorporating stockpile designs, drill plans and equipment projections.
• Develop daily and weekly schedules, including ore blending requirements and equipment production projections.
• Perform reconciliation and reporting/analysis of actual performance to plan.
• Consider safety, environmental, equipment constraints and plant requirements in planning and scheduling.
• Collaborate with mine operations to understand constraints and recommend best practices.
• Coordinate with team members to provide schedules for safe and efficient plan execution.
• Identify opportunities for improvements in planning, designs, execution, or tools.
