Job summary
Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Mine Engineer to provide engineering, planning, design support, and leadership to our mining operations and mineral projects in Ishpeming, Michigan. The role drives the development of mine plans, ore reserve reporting, and capital project support while aligning with SEC rules and Cliffs policies.
You will lead planning, conduct economic mineral evaluations, and mentor the Mine Engineering team to ensure continuous improvement and safe, compliant operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in Mine Engineering and Operations, with experience in leadership and management roles.
Responsibilities
- Direct, coordinate, and participate on mine planning activities to meet plans, budgets, and targets for Mine Engineering sections.
- Lead in mine engineering and mine design contributions to Cliffs's business development initiatives.
- Lead in economic mineral evaluations and develop economic models for mine plans.
- Develop standards of essential planning activities for Mine Engineering and install best practices.
- Coordinate as a functional interface between mine engineering and operations for execution and monitoring of mine plans.
