Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Mine Planning Engineer to join the Enterprise Excellence team and support safe, efficient execution of open‑pit, sand, and gravel operations. You will collaborate with operations and services teams to improve business processes and drive operational excellence across the enterprise.

Responsibilities include developing short, mid-range, and life‑of‑mine plans, analyzing geological data, and leading standardization of planning practices, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining, geological, or civil engineering.
• 2+ years in mine planning for aggregate or industrial minerals.
• Experience developing mine plans for surface and underground operations.
• PE or PG license holder or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Perform or support mine planning for open pit and sand/gravel ops.
• Lead continuous improvement in mine planning standards.
• Develop short, mid-range, and life-of-mine plans.
• Analyze geological data to optimize extraction sequences.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations.
• Monitor mining progress and address deviations.
• Collaborate with operations to execute plans.
• Provide cost-effective site development options.
