Job summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a Shift Supervisor - Mine Operations to lead safe, efficient development and operation of the iron ore mine. This hybrid role combines shift supervision with dispatch responsibilities, supporting pre-operations and transitioning to daily production coordination after ramp-up.

The role involves operating equipment during development, building procedures, and supervising a team to meet safety, production, and cost targets while coordinating with maintenance,

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience.
• Experience with dispatch systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent work ethic and attendance record.
• Able to work 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Operations: participate in mine development, operate heavy equipment, help establish procedures and onboarding for new operators.
• Operations: supervise daily mining activities, conduct pre-shift meetings and field inspections, ensure MSHA compliance, coordinate with maintenance/engineering, complete shift reports and handovers, act as shift dispatcher and monitor fleet software.
