Job summary

Mesabi Metallics Company LLC is seeking a Shift Supervisor – Mine Operations to lead safe, efficient development and operation of our iron ore mine. This hybrid role blends shift supervision with dispatch duties, ensuring optimal use of equipment and personnel while contributing to pre-operations and ongoing production planning.

During pre-operations, you may operate equipment and help establish procedures; once in operation, you will coordinate daily production, supervise staff, and manage

Qualifications

• Must have prior supervisory experience.
• Experience with dispatch systems is required.
• Knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication and training ability.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Participate in mine development work and operate heavy equipment as needed.
• Supervise daily mining activities and coordinate with maintenance and processing teams.
• Prepare shift reports, production summaries, incident notifications, and handover documentation.
• Serve as the shift dispatcher and optimize haul cycles.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and production plans.
