Job summary

Mesabi Metallics is seeking a Shift Supervisor – Mine Operations to lead safe, efficient development and operation of our iron ore mine. This hybrid role blends shift supervision with dispatch duties to optimize equipment, people, and processes during pre-operations and ongoing production.

The successful candidate will supervise daily mining activities, conduct pre-shift meetings, ensure MSHA compliance, and coordinate with maintenance and engineering to meet safety, production and cost targets

Qualifications

• Candidates must have prior supervisory experience in mining or similar operations.
• Experience with dispatch systems is required.
• Must communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily mining activities while ensuring safety and production plans.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and supervise field operations.
• Ensure MSHA compliance and proper safety practices.
• Coordinate with maintenance and engineering to optimize workflow.
• Complete shift reports and dispatch fleet as needed.
