Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 5 years of supervisory/lead experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical mining discipline with internship experience (or equivalent) in mining/industrial environments.
• Certifications or licensure related to the job may be required.
• Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coordinate and control safe operation of an assigned work unit.
• Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for the unit.
• Implement production plans according to the approved schedule.
• Participate in daily operational duties and perform complex tasks.
• Inspect progress, identify problems and direct remedial action.
• Conduct performance evaluations of subordinate staff.
• Prepare estimates for staffing, materials and equipment needs.
• Maintain inventory of parts; approve purchases and track usage.
• Train staff in safety procedures and maintain safety data sheets.
• Perform other duties as required.
