Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Mine Network and CCTV Systems Specialist to promote and sustain Mine Network and CCTV systems across the Mid-America Region. The role reports to the Controls Manager and involves project management, system expansions, and hands-on training for site personnel.

Responsibilities include design, planning, and implementation of CCTV solutions, preventative maintenance, and long-term ownership of operation. Occasional travel and extended hours are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years' experience in electrical design/layout, PLC programming, or related.
  • Network/fiber experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of standard networking systems; fiber optics knowledge.
  • Excellent time management and strong project management skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel overnight.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Regional support for Underground Mine Network systems and CCTV systems.
  • Provide project management to sustain and implement network and camera systems.
  • Act as SME on CCTV systems used for production, security and sales.
  • Design, plan and fulfill requests for CCTV systems and expansions with plant personnel.
  • Provide training on Mine Network and CCTV systems to MM personnel.
  • Own operation, preventative maintenance and troubleshooting once systems are operational.
  • Implement solutions for coverage issues as they arise.
  • Manage centralized inventory of critical spare parts for peak performance.
  • Provide initial and ongoing site personnel training for peak utilization.
  • Train onsite electricians or contractors for emergency repairs.
  • Plan and manage all expansions to keep pace with mining activity.
  • Lead local projects to expand system capabilities.
  • Evaluate opportunities for additional controls and tracking at sites.
  • Participate in Capital Planning to identify future needs.

Description:

Martin Marietta is currently looking for a motivated self-starter to take on our new position of Mine Network and Camera Systems Specialist, reporting to the Controls Manager within the Mid-America Region. This position will promote and support development and sustainment of Mine Network and Closed-Circuit Television systems.


Location:

Martin Marietta's Mid-America Region is a leading provider of aggregates, asphalt, and construction materials serving communities throughout the Midwest. The region supports critical infrastructure and development projects through a network of quarries, plants, and distribution facilities committed to safety, operational excellence, and customer-focused service.


Responsibilities:


  • Serve as Regional Support of Underground Mine Network Systems and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems.

  • Provide project management services to sustain and implement network and camera Communication systems throughout the Region.

  • Subject matter expert on (CCTV) systems used for production, security and sales.

  • Work with plant personnel to design, plan and fulfill requests for CCTV systems and expansions.

  • Provide training to various MM personnel on the operation of Mine Network and CCTV systems.

  • Once mine network and CCTV systems are operational, provide long-term ownership of operation, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting functions.

  • Implement solutions for coverage issues as they arise.

  • Manage centralized inventory of critical spare parts to ensure peak system performance and availability.

  • Provide initial and ongoing training for site personnel to ensure peak system utilization.

  • Training of onsite electricians or contractors necessary to facilitate emergency repairs.

  • Plan and manage all system expansions to maintain pace with yearly mining advance.

  • Project lead and management for local requests to expand system capabilities.

  • Evaluate and estimate opportunities for additional controls and tracking opportunities at operating sites.

  • Participate in Capital Planning process to identify future needs.


Required Education and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years' experience in electrical design/layout, PLC programming, or comparative experience, preferred

  • Network/fiber experience preferred

  • 5+ years of related experience

  • Applicant must possess basic networking, windows operating systems, radios, communications systems, and other networking equipment

  • A general understanding of underground mining is preferred.

  • Must have a working knowledge of standard networking systems.

  • Knowledge of fiber optics termination and troubleshooting, as well as the ability to install, repair, and troubleshoot closed circuit television cameras.

  • Excellent time management skills; ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks with strong planning skills.Also, candidate must possess strong project management skills.

  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours, with some overnight travel, required.

  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills are required. All applicants must make safety the highest priority.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that regularly requires long hours and weekend work. Occasional travel will be required.
