Job summary

Robinson Nevada Mining Company in Ruth, NV seeks a Mine Maintenance Shift Supervisor to plan, organize, manage and evaluate maintenance activities. You will supervise technicians, coordinate project work and ensure safety and regulatory compliance on site.

The role requires seven years of supervisory experience, MSHA knowledge, and a proven ability to lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams on rotating shifts. A pre-employment physical is required.

Qualifications

• Requires HS diploma or GED with 7 years of supervisory/operational experience.
• Able to plan, prioritize, direct, and manage multiple operational areas.
• Know how to coach, counsel and hold employees accountable.

JOB TITLE: Mine Maintenance Shift Supervisor. DEPARTMENT: Mine Maintenance. LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV. PAY GRADE: 6. POSITION REPORTS TO: Mine Maintenance Manager. ROTATING SHIFT: Yes. EXEMPT.

Purpose & Scope of The Position:

Under limited supervision, plan, organize, manage and evaluate assigned maintenance activities. Supervise maintenance technicians. Develop, plan, and coordinate the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates and program development.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
• Establish tactical and strategic goals, objectives, policies, and procedures in assigned area within the business.
• Direct maintenance staff in daily operations. Inspect daily operations, projects in progress, and upon completion to ensure quality of work.
• Provide administrative and technical direction to staff; interpret policies and procedures established by regulatory agencies.
• Oversee and recommend the selection of key staff. Participate in the selection of staff.
• Work with employees to correct deficiencies. Implement disciplinary procedures and recommend terminations. Investigate complaints and recommend corrective action as necessary.
• Develop, plan, and coordinate the work plan for assigned projects and responsibilities, which may include project management, cost estimates, and program development.
• Coordinate work with other units and site departments.
• Provide information and resources to site officials and other departments.
• Evaluate infrastructure, facilities, and operating systems for needed maintenance and repair.
• Coordinate the activities of consultants and contractors.
• Works on complex issues and implements solutions mostly through the determination of strategy and delegation to others in a group or functional area.
• Works under limited supervision and has significant latitude to set objectives, priorities, and timelines that may impact a group or functional area within the company.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the success of Robinson Nevada Mining Company and KGHM.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years related operational experience, including supervisory or management experience.
• Experience:
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, direct, and manage a diverse number of operational areas, projects and activities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices, recognizing hazards, and communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of MSHA surface codes.
  • Knowledge of mobile mining equipment.
  • Ability to coach, counsel and hold employees accountable.
• Licenses: Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: Five (5) years in a maintenance supervisory position.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

• Skilled in Microsoft software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
• Working knowledge of principles of planning, scheduling and coordination.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasionally for training and development.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training, and motivating employees.
• Ability to develop front line supervision.
• Ability to aid and mentor staff in maintenance troubleshooting & repair.

Additional Requirements:

• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Ability to meet the required physical demands, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly.
