Job summary

Freeport‑McMoRan Inc. invites motivated students to join the 2026 Fall Internship in Mine Engineering. The program targets full-time students and recent grads, offering hands-on work from layout to data collection and project evaluation at mining sites in North America.

You will support various engineering projects, gain exposure to budgeting, safety practices, and technology upgrades while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Recent graduate within 12 months in Mining Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with conventional to complex engineering projects to support operations.
• Assist in layout, design, specification development and data collection.
• Coordinate mining, mechanical, civil engineering projects and prepare cost estimates.
• Evaluate current systems and implement optimizations to improve efficiencies.
• Participate in project development, budgeting, engineering, purchasing, and cost controls.
