Freeport-McMoRan Inc. offers a 2026 Fall Internship - Full Time - Geology designed for enrolled students and recent graduates. The program combines field and office work, with opportunities to collaborate on exploration projects and data analysis across North American sites.

Travel between locations may be required, and the role provides a paid internship. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and practical experience in geological sampling, mapping, and data management.

Competenze

• Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree in Geology or closely related field.
• Recent graduate (within 12 months) pursuing a degree in Geology or closely related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Highly accurate and detail oriented.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrates initiative, organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
• Collaborates effectively in a team environment.

Mansioni

• Creating sample identification labels and submitting samples for laboratory analysis.
• Retrieving laboratory analyses and loading results into a relational database.
• Coordinating submittal of standard reference materials and duplicate samples.
• Entering geological codes into databases and validating against standards.
• Digitizing geological maps and cross-sections.
• Logging drill cuttings and core samples to identify rock types and copper mineralization.
• Mapping pit walls and supporting district exploration.
• Compiling drilling and geoscience data for projects and initiatives.
• Performing other duties as required.
