Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. invites students to join its 10-12 week Summer Internship in Industrial Hygiene at sites across Arizona and other North American locations. Interns work with mentors in Health & Safety to analyze exposures and implement controls.

Preferred candidates are enrolled full-time in a related field, with strong Excel and data skills, and are prepared for a hands-on program with professional development and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time at an accredited four-year university pursuing a degree in Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• Recent graduate within 12 months with a degree in Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis.
• Strong communication, organization and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with mentors in Health & Safety / Industrial Hygiene on real-world problems.
• Assist with collecting air, dust and other samples and analyze data.
• Support exposure reduction efforts and safety program development.
• Contribute to site leadership discussions and learn regulatory standards.
• Participate in safety-related projects and professional development activities.
