Job summary

U.S. Silica in Lovelock, NV is seeking a skilled mine heavy equipment operator to supervise and execute excavation tasks safely. You will operate bulldozers, excavators, and other mining gear, train crew, and ensure compliance with safety standards on site.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a strong safety mindset, ability to multi-task outdoors in all seasons, and readiness to obtain a Nevada CDL with endorsements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong safety and quality focus.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• MSHA knowledge preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Willing to obtain Nevada CDL with endorsements.
• Physical ability to dig, lift, swing and dump contents with shovel/loader.

Responsibilities

• Operate and train subordinates in the safe and efficient operation of mining equipment.
• Observe markings on ground, hand signals, or grade stakes to remove material.
• Read daily cut sheets and communicate instructions to crew.
• Inspect, clean, maintain, and lubricate equipment.
• Organize drill hole samples.
• Comply with safety, environmental regulations and company policies.
• Assist data entry, safety audits, operator training, or parts inventory as needed.
• Safety first: working safely is the top priority.
