U.S. Silica is seeking a Mine Operator to supervise mining activities and ensure safe operation of the mine at Lovelock, NV. The role involves operating and training others on heavy equipment, following instructions, reading cut sheets, and maintaining equipment.

Candidates should be able to work outdoors in all seasons and comply with safety regulations. Responsibilities include inspecting gear, organizing drill samples, and supporting safety audits or inventory tasks as needed.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Supervises mining operations and safe mine operation.
• Operates and trains subordinates on mining equipment (bulldozers, graders, haul trucks, scrapers, water trucks, excavators).
• Reads ground markings, signals, or grade stakes to move material.
• Inspects, cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment.
• Organizes drill hole samples.
• Complies with safety, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Assists with data entry, safety audits, or inventory as needed.

Descripción del empleo

Supervises mining and ensures the safe operation of the mine. Operates mine equipment to excavate or move dirt, rock, and diatomaceous earth.

Responsibilities

• Working safely is first priority.
• Receives and follows written or oral instructions from Mine Supervisor regarding material to move or excavate.
• Operate and train subordinates in the safe and efficient operation of all mining equipment, including but not limited to bulldozers, road graders, articulated haul trucks, scrapers, water trucks or excavators.
• Observes markings on ground, hand signals, or grade stakes to remove material, when operating machinery at excavation site.Reads daily cut sheets and communicates the instructions on those sheets to all crew members.
• Inspects, cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment.
• Organizing drill hole samples
• Comply with all safety, environmental regulations and company policies
• Assist data entry, safety audits, operator training, or parts inventory as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• High level of safety and quality.
• Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.).
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Mine Safety and Health (MSHA) Knowledge - Preferred.
• Forklift experience - Preferred.
• Computer Software - Preferred.
• Warehouse experience - Preferred.
• We will sponsor any mine heavy equipment operator so he/she may obtain the Commercial Driver’s License.
• Preferred current Nevada Class I CDL Driver’s License with endorsements for Doubles and Tankers with DOT Physical and Medical Card (kept current and up to date).
• Fluidly and effectively move machine, create and move stockpiles and an ability to dig, lift, swing and dump contents of shovel into truck, car, conveyor, hopper or stockpile.
