Job summary

Andean Precious Metals Corp. is seeking a Mine Accountant to support site accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for its Soledad Mountain project in California. You will maintain cost tracking tools, analyze variances, and ensure IFRS compliance while collaborating with operations and finance teams.

The role focuses on month-end close, internal controls, and ad hoc regulatory reporting, offering growth within a safety‑driven mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within mining, manufacturing, industrial, or resource-based operations.
• Working knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles; experience in a public company environment is an asset.
• Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close activities, and financial reporting.
• Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
• Experience working with ERP or accounting systems; Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar systems is an asset.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional integrity.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain company safety, environmental, and compliance standards.
• Assist with the monthly financial close process, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
• Support internal controls and compliance requirements related to financial reporting and accounting processes.
• Assist in the preparation of departmental cost reports, including analysis of actual versus budget and forecasted expenditures.
• Monitor and analyze operating and capital costs, including variance analysis and reporting for site operations.
• Collaborate with operational departments to collect, analyze, and report cost and financial information.
• Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities.
• Develop and maintain cost tracking, financial analysis, and management reporting tools.
• Prepare schedules, analyses, and supporting documentation for financial reporting, audits, and compliance requirements.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual ad hoc and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls.
• Contribute to monthly management reports and special projects as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned.
