Job summary

Hecla Greens Creek Mine in Alaska is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead site budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning. You will analyze operating costs, ensure proper coding, and support month-end closing while coordinating with the Accounting Supervisor and other departments.

The role requires strong data handling, independent work, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced mining environment at the Juneau office. Occasional travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of accounting experience, preferably in mining.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access/SQL; Ellipse knowledge a plus.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Budgeting and forecasting: prepare site forecasts and budgets.
• Cost review and analysis: analyze monthly operating costs for variances.
• Month-end close: provide journals, accruals, and reports.
• Sales revenue database: maintain MS Access database to support Sales Accountant.
• Tax filings: prepare annual sales and property tax filings.
